Private shore excursion: Aix-en-Provence & Marseille from Toulon
Join your very own Provence expert for a maginificent day visiting Aix-en-Provence, city of water and art, and Marseille, the 2nd largest city in France.
Your private guide will meet you at the exit of your cruise ship in Toulon at 9am. Climb aboard your upmarket 8-seater minivan for your drive through the Provence countryside to Aix-en-Provence.
Your private guide knows all there is to know about the city and will lead you to the best sights and hidden secrets of Aix-en-Provence.
Your guided tour starts with a walk along the Cours Mirabeau lined with 17th and 18th century private mansions. Explore the old town which is filled with shops, architectural and religious sites, bustling squares and fountains. There are various markets taking place everyday in the center of Aix-en-Provence.
Aix-en-Provence is the birth place of the famous painter Paul Cézanne. You will have the opportunity to visit his studio which was built according to his own design (entrance ticket not included).

After your tour of Aix-en-Provence your guide will drive you onwards to Marseille! Get ready for a panoramic tour of its best sites! A stop at Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica invites you to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city, the Archipelago of Friuli and the Château d'If. Next your tour continues along the famous Corniche Road. This road is lined with magnificent mansions built as a sign of wealth by the merchants and bourgeois in the 19th century. The last part of your of Marseille will be to the 11th century Saint-Victor abbey that marks the entry to the Vieux-Port (Old Port).
At the end of your shore excursion your guide will drive you back to Toulon where you will be ready to board your cruise ship at 4pm.
