The tour departs from Aix-en-Provence where you will meet your friendly local A la Francaise guide at 9am.
Climb aboard your minivan and travel into the heart of lavender country and towards the Valensole Plateau. You will enjoy amazing views as your guide takes you along the picturesque roads which wind through the lavender fields.
Crossing the valley of the Durance River you will arrive at the Valensole Plateau. This area is specialised in the "lavandin" culture and you will find out about the history, traditions and culture behind this "blue gold" from your knowledgeable guide as you go.
During the course of your lavender tour your guide will stop at the best photo spots for you to see the lavender fields in all their beauty.
You will also get the chance to meet a local producer who will share his knowledge and passion for lavender and lavandin! This is the perfect opportunity to learn everything about the culture and traditions associated with lavender: its harvest, distillation and the different products that are made from it.
After visiting the lavender fields, you will journey on for a visit to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. The village is perched up high in the limestone cliffs and is famous for its earthenware workshops. There will be free time for a visit and lunch (lunch is not included).
After lunch your tour continues with a stop at the Pont de Galetas for a scenic view to the breathtaking opening of the Grand Canyon of the River Verdon.
Enjoy a peaceful stop at Sainte-Croix, where you can leisurely wander along the serene shores of the lake.
Your guide will drive you back to Aix-en-Provence after a magnificent day with A la Française! You will arrive back at 6pm.
NB: A La Française reserves the right to modify the programme according to the lavender's blooming stage. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
