Private shore excursion: Aix-en-Provence & Marseille
Join your Provence expert for the day at the exit of your cruise ship in Marseille at 9am. Step aboard your upmarket 8-seater minivan and be driven in comfort through the Provence countryside to Aix-en-Provence.
Your private guide knows all there is to know about the city and will lead you on a wonderful and insightful walking tour of the must-see sights and hidden secrets of Aix-en-Provence.
Follow your guide for a walk along the Cours Mirabeau lined with 17th and 18th century private mansions. Enjoy exploring the old town which is packed with shops, architectural and religious sites, bustling squares and pretty fountains. There are numerous markets taking place everyday in the center of Aix-en-Provence.
Aix-en-Provence is also the home of the famous painter Paul Cézanne. You will have the opportunity to visit Cézanne's studio which was built following his own design (entrance ticket not included).

After Aix-en-Provence it's time for a tour of Marseille! Your guide will take you on a panoramic tour of its best sites! A stop at Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica is a must on any tour of this maritime city. From here you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the city, the Archipelago of Friuli and the Château d'If. Next your guide will drive you along the famous Corniche Road. This road is lined with magnificent mansions built as a sign of wealth by the merchants and bourgeois in the 19th century. Your tour of Marseille will continue on to the 11th century Saint-Victor abbey that marks the entry to the Vieux-Port (Old Port).
At the end of the tour you will arrive back at the Marseille cruise terminal for 4pm.
