Shore excursion to the lavender fields of Provence
Meet your local guide at the Marseille cruise terminal at 9am and climb aboard your A la Française minivan for an incredible day exploring the lavender fields of Provence!
Leaving Marseille admire the views of Provence as you drive towards the Valensole plateau. As you get closer you will start to pass along picturesque small roads winding among lavender fields.
This area of Provence is specialised in the "lavandin" culture and you will benefit from your local guide's knowledge about the culture and history of this "blue gold".
Throughout the excursion your A la Française guide will stop at great photo spots for you to admire the purple flowers and capture the best views of the lavender fields.
You will also get the chance to meet a local lavender producer who will share his passion for lavender and lavandin with you! This is the perfect opportunity to learn everything about the unique culture of lavender: its harvest and distillation and also all the different products made from lavender!
For lunch, make the most of some free-time in the lovely and authentic village of Valensole (lunch not included).
After seeing the best sights and discovering all there is to know about lavender, your guide will drive you back to Marseille cruise terminal for 4pm.
