Private shore excursion: Avignon & Vineyards

Your guide will meet you in Marseille at the exit of your cruise ship at 8am and drive you in comfort to the first stop on your shore excursion, Avignon.
Benefit from his expert local knowledge as you tour the majestic City of the Popes. Take a look at Saint-Benezet Bridge, famous for the children's song “Sur le Pont d'Avignon”, and see the Popes' Palace which is the biggest Gothic-styled palace in Europe (entrance tickets not included).
There will be free time for lunch (not included) on your own during the day.
Next up is a visit to the vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape. The drive from Avignon will take you through the vineyards of the Rhone Valley where some of France's best wine is made. You will visit a winery for a private guided tour of its vineyards and cellars. Enjoy learning about the terroir, grape varieties, vinification and aging. And of course, enjoy a tasting of the famous Châteauneuf du Pape wine!
After your visit to Châteauneuf du Pape, your guide will drive you back to Marseille where you will arrive at 4pm.
