Meet your local guide at 9.30 am in front of the tourist office situated next to Reims centre train station and start the day with a drive through the vineyard.
Enjoy a moment in the vineyards, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage Champagne vines and acquire knowledge about the particularities of our “terroir”. You will then discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of champagne. Get to enter the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.
Appreciate the charming hillsides of the Champagne region and peek-behind-the-scenes of a family-run winery. Visit the traditional press, tank room and cellar of an authentic champagne grower. Stroll down the cool cellar corridors and glance at the immense quantity of bottles slowly maturing. Enjoy several tastings of their best–seller “cuvees” and find the best values of Champagne!
Then, be welcomed at a champagne house and be introduced to the champagne tasting and enjoy a lunch and more champagne.
Go back to Reims and visit the famous Maison G. H. Mumm (if not available can be replaced by a similar house), discover the champagne making process and enjoy their emblematic cuvée.
After a day full of experiences and precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in Reims 5.15 pm.
